Afrobeats (distinct from Fela Kuti’s 1970s Afrobeat) is the modern West-African pop movement blending highlife, hip-hop, dancehall, and amapiano influences into chart-crossing, dance-led songs. Videojam curates the music videos powering its global rise.

Afrobeats is melody- and hook-driven pop from Nigeria and Ghana; Amapiano is a slower, log-drum-led house sound from South Africa. They increasingly cross-pollinate but come from different scenes.
