R&B's deepest well on Videojam is Anita Baker — thirteen videos, more than double the next artist — which tells you where this hub's centre of gravity sits: the soul-adjacent, vocal-first R&B of Sade, Keith Sweat, and New Edition as much as anything from the streaming era. Sade's "Nothing Can Come Between Us" and Keith Sweat's "Right and a Wrong Way" are the kind of performance-driven, minimal-set videos that defined the genre before music videos got expensive. But the hub isn't stuck in that era. ZAYN's contemporary run and Olivia Dean's "Man I Need" (which appears twice in the catalog, from two separate uploads — a small sign of how often it gets requested) bring the hub forward into current R&B's more atmospheric, less performance-bound visual style.
