Legal & Policies
Last updated: August 25, 2026
Videojam.live ("Videojam," "we," "us," or "our") is a curated music-video discovery platform. This page explains how we handle your information and the rules for using the Service.
1. Scope
- This policy applies to personal data we process through https://videojam.live and related listener, artist, and account features.
- It does not govern third-party services we do not control. These include YouTube (embedded playback), Google Analytics (when you consent), and Resend, the provider that delivers our sign-in links, account email, and newsletter.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you provide
- Listener accounts: email address and, if you choose password sign-in, a hashed password. Magic-link sign-in uses your email only.
- Artist accounts: email, display name, and profile information you submit for your public artist page.
- Favourites: when signed in, video identifiers you save to your account are stored in our database.
- Watch history: if you are signed in, your Continue Watching history is saved to your account so it can follow you across devices. It is permanently deleted with your account.
- Newsletter: if you opt in, we store your email address together with a record of that consent. The record holds the date and time you opted in, where you opted in from, and your current subscription status. If you unsubscribe, we store the date and time of that too.
- Contact: if you email us, we receive your message and contact details.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Server logs: IP address, browser type, and request metadata for security and operations.
- Session cookie: an httpOnly NextAuth session token so signed-in features (favourites, account) work. This is strictly necessary for authentication.
- Playback state: sessionStorage on your device may store your current queue and position so playback can resume during a visit. This stays on your device.
- Guest favourites: if you are not signed in, saved videos may be stored in your browser localStorage until you create an account or clear site data.
- Watch history: if you are not signed in, your Continue Watching history stays on your device, is never sent to us, and no account is involved. If you sign in, your history is saved to your account so it can follow you across devices. You can clear it anytime, and it is permanently deleted with your account.
2.3 Analytics (with consent)
- We use Google Analytics 4 with Google Consent Mode. Before you click Accept in our cookie banner, analytics runs in a cookieless, aggregated mode.
- If you accept, GA4 may set first-party cookies (such as _ga) to measure page views and usage. You can decline or withdraw consent via Reject in the banner.
- We do not load analytics on localhost, Vercel preview URLs, or internal Studio routes.
2.4 Embedded video
- Videos play through YouTube embeds. YouTube may collect usage data under its own privacy policy when you interact with the player.
2.5 Newsletter
- We send an email newsletter about what has been added to the catalog. It is optional and separate from the email we send to sign you in.
- You can subscribe from your account settings, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in the footer of every issue or by turning the setting off in your account. Unsubscribing takes effect for all future issues.
- Unsubscribing from the newsletter does not close your account and does not stop the sign-in links you request.
3. How We Use Information
- Provide and maintain the Service (catalog browsing, continuous playback, favourites).
- Authenticate accounts and secure the platform.
- Improve the product through aggregated analytics (only with consent for cookie-based measurement).
- Send the newsletter. Where you have opted in, we rely on your consent. For people who already held a Videojam account before we introduced the opt-in, we rely on article 21.2 of the Spanish LSSI, which permits sending commercial communications about our own similar services to existing users, and every issue carries an unsubscribe link.
- Respond to support requests and enforce these terms.
5. Data Retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above or to meet legal obligations. You may request deletion of a listener account by contacting us.
Newsletter consent records are kept for as long as you are subscribed, and after you unsubscribe we keep a record of the unsubscribe so that we do not email you again. Deleting your account removes your address from our newsletter audience.
6. Your Rights (EEA / UK)
If you are in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete your personal data
- Restrict or object to certain processing
- Data portability
- Withdraw consent (for example, analytics cookies, or the newsletter)
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time, using the link in any issue or the setting in your account
- Lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority
7. Terms of Use
By using Videojam, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
8. Content & Playback
- Videojam curates links to music videos hosted on YouTube. We do not host the underlying video files.
- Catalog metadata, editorial notes, and layout are provided for discovery and education. Rights remain with artists, labels, and rights holders.
- You must use the Service lawfully and not attempt to disrupt, scrape at abusive rates, or circumvent access controls.
9. Accounts
- You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping credentials confidential.
- Artist profile content you submit must be accurate and must not infringe third-party rights.
- We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these terms or pose security risk.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted playback, catalog availability, or that every video will remain embeddable on YouTube.
