Bio
Borja Cobeaga is a filmmaker from San Sebastián who began making video shorts with school friends as a child and later studied Audiovisual Communication at the University of the Basque Country. His first film short, La primera vez (2001), was a Goya nominee for Best Fiction Short. His 2005 short Éramos pocos earned an Academy Award nomination and screened at some 250 festivals. He directed the features Pagafantas, No controles and Negociador, and cowrote Ocho apellidos vascos and Superlópez. He also cofounded the Bilbao production companies Arsénico and Sayaka in 2005 with Nacho Vigalondo, Koldo Serra and others.
