Bio
Emmanuel Adjei is a Ghanaian Dutch film director and visual artist born in Amsterdam. He studied fine art at the Utrecht School of the Arts and audiovisual arts and film at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent, and received Mondriaan Fund Young Talent grants in 2013 and 2014. His music videos for Sevdaliza, including Shahmaran in 2018, and for Madonna explore identity, power and displacement. He codirected Beyoncé's visual album Black Is King, which brought Grammy and NAACP Image Award nominations. With FKA twigs he codirected the video for Don't Judge Me, which won Best Music Video at Raindance in 2021.
