Bio
José Luis Zorrero is a writer and director from Guadalajara who is based in Mexico City. He studied musical theatre in New York before returning to Guadalajara to study Communication, where he realised how much of his stage training carried over to film. His first short as writer and director, ¡Beso de lengua!, is an independent production that premiered at Tribeca in 2024 in the Queer Short Films selection. Shot on 16mm with a 1960s mod look, it follows a first date that ends in the emergency room. The film also screened at Palm Springs ShortFest and Drama and won awards in Guanajuato and Leeds.
