Artist profile
Giuliana May

Giuliana May is an Italian singer, songwriter, and composer operating at the intersection of cinematic alt-pop, dark ethereal soundscapes, and visual storytelling. She holds a Master’s degree in Show Business Sciences alongside specialized training in music production, music branding, and sound design (SAE Institute, IED Milan, Venice Biennale’s CIMM, and H-Farm/BigRock). Her artistic output seamlessly bridges European cultural depth with modern independent sensibilities. Giuliana May crafts lush, orchestral arrangements paired with intimate vocals. Grounded in 20th-century literary existentialism, her debut project, Who am I?, explores identity fragmentation and the search for authenticity within raw natural environments, prioritizing analog craft and human vulnerability. Her work has earned international critical acclaim from outlets including The LA Note Magazine, Side-Line Magazine, Il Corriere, Il Denaro, Happy Mag, and Exibart. The official music video for “Who am I?” (a poetic short art-video filmed in the Piana del Dragone in Southern Italy’s Picentini Mountains) treats the mountain landscape as a visceral interior topography. The project was named a finalist at Videojam Fest, Viterbo Shorts, and Folkestone Film Festival. Giuliana May also composed the original soundtrack for the animated short film Notturno, writing and performing its end-credits track, “Stories,” and is working on the original soundtrack for the Eden Lumina video game project.
