Kei Kanamori is a Japanese CG artist and director. His graduation film from Digital Hollywood University, Origami (2024), is a 2-minute-55-second CGI short in which square sheets of paper are folded into origami creatures, built with a workflow that reproduces real paper thickness and folds. It won the Silver Medal in Animation at the 51st Student Academy Awards, the first Japanese work to win a Student Academy Award, and was shortlisted for the 97th Academy Awards in the animated short category. It also screened in the SIGGRAPH 2024 Electronic Theater, at Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia 2024 and at HollyShorts. He earlier directed Tomatoes, which won an award at the 29th Student CG Contest, made the title video for Rock In Japan Festival 2024 and works as a freelance CG artist.
