Mohammad Gorjestani

Mohammad Gorjestani is an Iranian-American writer, director and producer. He studied at Vancouver Film School, where his thesis film The Shade premiered at Tribeca in 2007 and was acquired by the BBC. His documentary short Refuge, made with ITVS, screened at Tribeca and SXSW. Filmmaker Magazine named him one of the 25 New Faces of Independent Film in 2013, and his work has received nine Vimeo Staff Picks. Later films include The Happy Birthday Project, Sister Hearts (2018) and Exit 12 (2019), a documentary short acquired by Fox Searchlight. He has twice received the San Francisco Film Society's Kenneth Rainin Foundation Filmmaking Grant for a feature in development and is a co-founder of Even/Odd.
