Bonobo | Mixmag Lab London

Bonobo played a Mixmag Lab set in the round at Wagtail, a London rooftop venue, as the sun set. The Bonobo date at Wagtail on Saturday 4 July 2026 was billed as the opening event of the Mixmag Summer 2026 series. Bonobo has released on Ninja Tune since the 2003 album Dial M For Monkey, and his eighth album, Distance In Static, was due on the label on 11 September 2026. Bonobo received two Grammy nominations at the 2018 ceremony, one of them for the 2017 album Migration. Early in the Wagtail Mixmag Lab set, Bonobo mixed Dawn, the opening track of Distance In Static, into Cycles, the album's second track. About ten minutes into the Wagtail Mixmag Lab set, Bonobo played Karimu by the Chicago producer Bulat, followed by Jera, a West African influenced house cut by Narasimha. Around an hour into the Wagtail Mixmag Lab set, Bonobo moved from his own Age Of Phase into Drift, a track from Distance In Static. In a feature dated 1 September 2026, Mixmag pointed to the Bonobo Mixmag Lab set at Wagtail as evidence of how deeply Simon Green loves DJing.
