LAURENT GARNIER ▪ FULL 4-HOUR MASTERPIECE at 909 FESTIVAL 2017 | remastered audio

909 Festival

Laurent Garnier played this set on Saturday 27 May 2017 at 909 Festival, on the Kleine Speelweide in the Amsterdamse Bos. The festival, which began in 2011, takes its name from the Roland TR-909 drum machine. It had announced Garnier that March as an exclusive booking, after Jeff Mills and Vince Watson were already confirmed. ROD, Tommy Four Seven and VRIL also played that day. Garnier found the Haçienda in Manchester in 1987 and began playing at the club as DJ Pedro. For three years in the early 1990s he hosted Wake Up, a party at Paris's Rex Club. He later set up the F Communications label with Eric Morand and released Crispy Bacon in 1997 and The Man with the Red Face in 2000. His albums include 30 in 1997, Unreasonable Behaviour in 2000, The Cloud Making Machine in 2005 and Tales of a Kleptomaniac in 2009. It comes from a one day bill that put Garnier alongside Jeff Mills, Derrick Carter, Kenny Larkin, Eddie Fowlkes and Vince Watson.
