FKJ live at Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia for Cercle

FKJ live at Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia

FKJ performed a live set on the Salar de Uyuni salt flat in southwest Bolivia that Cercle streamed on Facebook, as Live for Live Music reported in February 2019. FKJ, short for French Kiwi Juice, is the stage name of Vincent Fenton, a multi-instrumentalist from Tours born in 1990 to a French mother and a father from New Zealand. FKJ issued his debut album, French Kiwi Juice, on the Roche Musique label in March 2017. According to Collater.al, FKJ played for about an hour and a half from a raft set in the middle of the Bolivian salt flat at Salar de Uyuni. FKJ himself described the Salar de Uyuni set for Cercle as partly planned and partly improvised, according to Laughing Squid. Cercle said the Salar de Uyuni shoot was hard to organise because the site lies about 12,000 feet up, has no mobile signal and faces difficult weather. A September 2019 WBGO profile listed the FKJ stage setup as an electric bass, three electric guitars, two saxophones and two keyboards, layered through extensive looping. Ticket Fairy included the FKJ performance on the Salar de Uyuni in a September 2021 selection of Cercle sets that bring together culture, history and art.
