Shimza for Cercle at Citadelle de Sisteron, France

Shimza played this set for Cercle at the Citadelle de Sisteron in France, and Cercle published the recording on 19 September 2024. The Citadelle de Sisteron took shape as a fortress from around 1589, with Jehan Sarrazin directing its construction. Shimza, whose real name is Kholofelo Ashley Raphala, signed with Soulistic Music and put out his debut studio album Shimuzic in 2015. Shimza won Red Bull's DJ Academy contest in 2006 and founded Kunye, a label set up to back young African talent. Shimza's One Man Show is an outdoor party held on Christmas Day that raises money for underprivileged children. Shimza released Parachute, a collaboration with the indie singer Rachel Chinouriri, on Helix Records in May 2024. About eighty four minutes into the Sisteron set, Shimza plays Bado, his collaboration with CamelPhat featuring Idd Aziz. Shimza brings in Darling, his single with Aloe Blacc, about one hundred and twelve minutes into the Sisteron set. Shimza ends the Sisteron set about two hours in with Citadelle, his track with Maline Aura. Mixmag reported in September 2024 that Shimza had released Citadelle on Cercle Records, naming the track after his Cercle Show at the Sisteron citadel.
