KUNYE EP 6 - Da Capo

Da Capo plays the sixth episode of Kunye in a recording that the Kunye Records channel published on 26 August 2021. Shimza's Kunye label, whose name means together in Xhosa and Zulu, started hosting weekly livestream sessions in July 2021 to showcase producers from across South Africa. Shimza launched Kunye Records after streaming a performance from Robben Island in July 2020 to mark Nelson Mandela Day. Da Capo, born Nicodimas Sekheta Mogashoa, grew up in Seshego near Polokwane and first drew attention with a remix of Moneoa's Pretty Disaster. After signing with Soulstic Music, Da Capo released his debut album Indigo Child in December 2017, and the Recording Industry of South Africa later certified the album double platinum. Da Capo founded the independent label Genesys Entity and put out his Genesys EP in May 2020. Da Capo's album Return to the Beginning Vol. 1, which gathers thirteen years of older and unreleased music, was announced for release on 27 August 2021. Kunye followed the success of its livestreams with a ticketed event at Mushroom Farm Park in Sandton on 31 October 2021, and Da Capo was booked on that bill alongside Shimza and Sun El Musician.
