KENNY DOPE slammin' house set in The Lab NYC

Mixmag published Kenny Dope's session on 15 September 2015 as the opening broadcast of its new Lab NYC series. The Lab New York was a weekly after-work party run by Mixmag with Smirnoff Sound Collective and streamed live from an undisclosed Brooklyn venue. Kenny Dope Gonzalez grew up in Brooklyn and forms one half of the house production duo Masters At Work. Mixmag's 2015 introduction to the Lab NYC set noted that Kenny Dope had been DJing since the 1980s and owned a vinyl collection of more than 50,000 records. Around the time of the Lab NYC session, Kenny Dope had collaborations with Toddla T and Robert Owens lined up on his Dopewax label and was about to begin a Rinse FM residency that October. Kenny Dope's first solo release came out in 1990, according to a Mixmag career retrospective marking its thirtieth anniversary in 2020.
