RICHIE HAWTIN at Loveland ADE | FULL 2-HOUR SET | AMSTERDAM DANCE EVENT 2017 | OFFICIAL OPENING

Richie Hawtin played this set on the Nieuwmarkt in Amsterdam on Wednesday 18 October 2017, a free show that Loveland ran from six to eight in the evening. It was billed as the official opening of that year's Amsterdam Dance Event. Loveland confirmed the show two days ahead, after Hawtin had hinted at it on Facebook. ADE itself ran from 18 to 22 October that year. Hawtin was born in Banbury in 1970, moved to Ontario as a boy, and co-founded the Plus 8 label with John Acquaviva before launching M-nus in 1998. He has recorded as Plastikman since 1993, and in 2016 he founded PLAYdifferently, the company behind the MODEL 1 mixer. From 2012 to 2015 he ran ENTER., a weekly party at Space in Ibiza. The recording runs just over two hours. It is the free, open air set that opened ADE 2017, in a two hour evening slot.
