CAMELPHAT tech house set at CRSSD Fest | Spring 2018

CamelPhat appeared on the Spring 2018 bill of CRSSD Festival, held at Waterfront Park in San Diego on 3 and 4 March 2018. Dancing Astronaut described the Spring 2018 weekend of CRSSD Festival as the seventh edition of the twice yearly San Diego event. Mixmag's photo report from CRSSD Spring 2018 listed CamelPhat among the acts spread over the festival's three stages, together with Sasha, Nicole Moudaber, Bonobo and Honey Dijon. CamelPhat are the Liverpool production pair of Mike Di Scala and Dave Whelan, who formed the duo in 2006. Dave Whelan and Mike Di Scala of CamelPhat first met at 3 Beat Records, a Liverpool record shop, and both held residencies at Society nightclub. The first CamelPhat recordings came out in 2010 on Vice Records, a label owned by Dave Whelan and Mike Di Scala. Cola, the 2017 CamelPhat single with Elderbrook on Defected, earned a nomination in the dance recording category at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards. Panic Room, a 2018 CamelPhat collaboration with Au/Ra on Loudmouth Music, gave the duo another UK hit single. CamelPhat won the House Artist award at the DJ Awards in 2018 and signed to RCA Records in December of that year.
