Kitty Amor sunrise Afro house set | Ballantine’s True Music x Mixmag

Mixmag released this Kitty Amor sunrise set on 28 August 2024 as part of a partnership with Ballantine's. The Kitty Amor set was filmed in the early morning at The Garden in Tisno, on the coast, ahead of Defected Croatia 2024. Across roughly an hour, the Kitty Amor set moves from a downtempo opening to higher energy as the sun comes up over the water. At Defected Croatia 2024 itself, Kitty Amor played the Ballantine's True Music Stage. Kitty Amor made her Lab LDN debut for Mixmag in 2021 alongside Sef Kombo, and the two later shared a Mixmag cover. Mahaba Music, the label Kitty Amor runs, operates as a Defected sub-label and launched in late 2023. Solitude, an Afro tech track with prominent synths and an emotive vocal hook, was the first Mahaba Music release, out on 17 November 2023. Defected released Who's Kitty Amor?, a documentary about her rise and about reconciling her identity with a Christian upbringing, in September 2023. Kitty Amor hosts a monthly residency on Rinse FM, extended into 2024 as a two hour show on the first Sunday of each month. Kitty Amor was nominated in the One to Watch category, run with BBC Music Introducing, at the 2024 AIM Awards.
