Zip is the name by which Thomas Franzmann is known in house and techno. Thomas Franzmann, known as Zip, runs the Perlon label with Markus Nikolai. The Perlon label, co-run by Zip, was founded in Frankfurt in 1997 and is now based in Berlin. Perlon, the label of Zip and Markus Nikolai, concentrates on minimal techno and tech house and releases mainly on vinyl. Zip mixed fabric 67, a 73-minute entry in the fabric mix series. Rhythm Zone uploaded the Zip mix from Centre Street in Detroit, dated 17.04.2004 in the title, on 10 May 2021. The Rhythm Zone description warns that the sound quality of the Zip recording falls short of the mix itself.
