Black Coffee @ Salle Wagram in Paris, France for Cercle

In 2018 Black Coffee played at Salle Wagram in Paris, described on his Wikipedia entry as the city's oldest ballroom, in a set produced by Cercle. Salle Wagram, in the 17th arrondissement of Paris, began as the Bal Dourlans dance hall in 1812 and has been a listed historical monument since 1981. Cercle, a Paris company founded by Derek Barbolla in 2016, began by staging and filming electronic music shows in culturally or naturally significant places. Black Coffee, born Nkosinathi Innocent Maphumulo in 1976 in South Africa, set up his own label Soulistic Music in 2005 to put out his debut album. Dancing Astronaut picked the Black Coffee set at Salle Wagram as a Good Morning Mix in June 2020, writing that the selections travel from classical through tribal to synth driven techno. About eleven minutes into the Cercle set at Salle Wagram, Black Coffee plays his own remix of Muyè by Rampa, &ME and Adam Port of Keinemusik. About fifty five minutes into the Salle Wagram set, Black Coffee reaches Afrika by Da Capo featuring Tshepo King. Black Coffee at Salle Wagram in 2018 appears among the more than 240 Cercle Shows that the Paris company has made and aired.
