CRISTI CONS & VLAD CAIA aka SIT in The Lab LDN: Neversea Takeover

SIT, the Romanian minimal duo of Cristi Cons and Vlad Caia, played a ninety minute set in Mixmag's The Lab LDN on Thursday 18 May 2017 as part of a Neversea takeover. Neversea was a newly launched festival in the Romanian seaside city of Constanța, scheduled for 7 to 9 July 2017 across seven stages on the beach. Cristi Cons and Vlad Caia started SIT in 2009, and their first album as SIT, Sideways, came out in 2015 on Amphia, an imprint the pair run themselves. Angels, a track from the 2015 SIT album Sideways, found wide popularity around Europe. According to fabric London, SIT pieces by Cristi Cons and Vlad Caia tend to start life as quick jam sessions before being reworked through arrangement and edits. Resident Advisor's review of Neversea 2017 listed SIT among the local acts flying the flag for the Romanian minimal house and techno scene at the Constanța festival. Resident Advisor's Neversea 2017 review singled out the sets by SIT, the alias of Cristi Cons and Vlad Caia, as among the weekend's more rewarding performances.
