Speedy J at Berghain 2012 - 4 Hour Set
Speedy J
MixesDB lists a Speedy J Klubnacht set at Berghain in Berlin dated 24 November 2012 that runs just under four hours. Speedy J was born Jochem George Paap in Rotterdam in 1969 and broke through in 1992 with the minimal techno track Pullover. Ginger, the 1993 debut album by Speedy J, came out in Canada on Richie Hawtin's Plus 8 label and in the UK as part of the Warp Artificial Intelligence series. Speedy J followed Ginger with G-Spot, also on Warp, in 1995. Loudboxer, the 2002 Speedy J album, moved back toward minimal four to the floor techno. Speedy J and Chris Liebing released the album Collabs 3000: Metalism on NovaMute in November 2005. In 2008 Speedy J began putting out music through Electric Deluxe, a label of his own. Berghain opened in 2004 as a successor to the club Ostgut, inside a former combined heat and power plant in Friedrichshain. Berghain usually stays open without a break from Saturday night until late on Monday morning, with a Funktion-One rig on the main dance floor.
