Melodie Boiler Room Bucharest x Interval DJ Set

The bill for the Boiler Room Bucharest x Interval night in July 2016 put Melodie alongside Premiesku, Priku, Herodot and Miss I, framed as a newer wave of Romanian artists. At the Boiler Room Bucharest x Interval night, Premiesku appeared as a live act built around Livio & Roby together with George G, and Miss I was introduced as the owner of the Bucharest record shop Misbits. Melodie is the alias of the Romanian producer Cristi Tudorache, who worked quietly on music for roughly ten years before a breakout run of releases in 2015. XLR8R characterised the Melodie sound as a fuller kind of house compared with the stripped back minimal widely associated with Romania. Mixmag reported in November 2015 that the Interval festival in Bucharest would open on 27 November as a hundred hour nonstop party spread over three house and techno venues.
