999999999 - HATE A/V 001

The techno duo 999999999 told Dancing Astronaut in 2018 that both members come from Venice, Italy. 999999999 built its live shows around improvising on its own instruments, chiefly Elektron machines such as the Analog Rytm, Analog Four and Octatrack, plus 303 clones for acid lines. In its 2018 Dancing Astronaut interview, 999999999 said it planned to release original tracks on its own label. Two Polish friends, Mike and Szymon, launched the techno YouTube channel HATE in April 2015. HATE premiered the 999999999 mix on 3 April 2020 as the opening episode of its HATE A/V audio-visual series. For HATE A/V 001, 999999999 also produced the visuals, presenting a combined DJ and VJ mix built on visual loops by Beeple.
