EELKE KLEIJN melodic house set in The Lab LA
Mixmag announced on 14 July 2015 that Eelke Kleijn, a producer based in Rotterdam, would come by The Lab LA, its weekly after work session streamed from Hollywood, on the Friday of that week. Mixmag billed Tara Brooks, a tech house DJ born in Southern California with releases on Desert Hearts, Subtract Music and Faceless, to open the Lab LA session before Kleijn. The video description credits Void Acoustics as the backer of The Lab LA and names the Wantickets Studio in Hollywood as the place the session was streamed from. In its preview, Mixmag said Kleijn would play techy house at the Lab LA. Mixmag placed the Lab LA visit within a US tour by Kleijn, listing dates at Harlot in San Francisco on 18 July, Sound in Los Angeles on 20 July and Q Nightclub in Seattle on 23 July. Kleijn first drew wider notice in 2006, after Nick Warren used his track 8 Bit Era on the Global Underground Paris compilation. Toolroom Live 02, a mix album by Kleijn, came out in 2015, the same year as this session.
