I HATE MODELS / REALITY CHECK / GRAND PALAIS
BACK2BACK
I Hate Models played a Reality Check session at the Grand Palais in Paris on 8 December 2021. The I Hate Models set at the Grand Palais carried the Reality Check name and was billed as a joint audiovisual piece with FEMUR. I Hate Models is the stage name of Guillaume Labadie, a French techno producer and DJ born in 1995 who began his career in 2015. Guillaume Labadie, known as I Hate Models, grew up in southern France and hides his face behind a mask in public, having worn a bandana at his early shows. In 2019 I Hate Models put out his first album, the twelve track L'Âge des métamorphoses, on the London industrial techno label Perc Trax. The Grand Palais, a Paris exhibition hall in the 8th arrondissement built for the Universal Exposition of 1900, shut in March 2021 for large scale renovation work. The I Hate Models recording from Reality Check at the Grand Palais runs for two hours, six minutes and fifty eight seconds and is filed under techno. The Reality Check performance by I Hate Models was staged as an audiovisual work that combines real footage captured inside the Grand Palais in Paris with 3D art.
