What is Afro House?
Afro house fuses the four-on-the-floor pulse of house music with African percussion, tribal drum patterns, chant-style vocals, and organic instrumentation. Warmer and more rhythmic than Western house, it ranges from spiritual, melodic productions to peak-time floor tools, and has become a defining sound of festivals and beach clubs from Cape Town to Ibiza.

Is Afro Tech the same as Afro House?+
Afro Tech is a subgenre of Afro House, not a separate genre: it layers techno's harder, more mechanical repetition and percussion onto Afro House's African rhythmic foundation. It emerged in South Africa in the 2010s alongside the same scene (Black Coffee, Culoe De Song, Shimza among its artists). Videojam does not yet tag Afro Tech as its own lane, so its videos live inside the broader Afro House catalog rather than a dedicated page.
