What is Latin House?

Latin house is house music's four-on-the-floor pulse infused with Latin percussion and vocals: congas, timbales, salsa and Afro-Cuban patterns riding a club beat. It grew out of New York and Chicago's Latino club communities in the late 1980s, and it resurges every time house music rediscovers groove over minimalism, most recently through the tribal and Afro-Latin crossovers filling festival stages. Expect warmth and syncopation: sets that swing rather than march.
