What is Tropical House?

Tropical house is a subgenre of house music and a derivation of tropical music.[1] Its name began, by one account, as a joke by Australian producer Thomas Jack.[2] It leans on tropical instrumentation such as steel percussion, marimbas, flutes and bongos alongside its house foundation.[3]
